Snacking and its impact on your diet

Posted on March 28, 2015 at 11:33 am

There is definitely something to be said for the mid morning (or afternoon) snack attack. When the clock strikes 11, it is often a call to the biscuit tin or the crisp packet, but with these handy tips, you will soon see that there is more to the humble snack than meets the eye.

Snacking as a rule is not a bad thing. The part of snacking that can ruin the good intentions of any dieter is the type of food they choose to snack on! By choosing healthier or more filling options, your mid morning snack could in fact turn into a health booster!

A handful of nuts, or a piece of fruit may sound a bit dull, but both are great options when it comes to having a quick snack. They both offer a range of good vitamins and minerals, which the biscuits and cakes cannot. Next time you find yourself reaching for the biscuits, why not grab a carrot instead?

The power of the soup maker

Posted on March 3, 2015 at 11:33 am

Soup is one of the most filling and satisfying lunch options around. However, slaving over the stove to make soup can be a hassle and put people off making this delicious meal. Fear not, help is at hand with the growing popularity of the soup making machine!

A soup machine is a little like a big kettle, which chopped up vegetables, liquid stock and seasonings can be added to. It can be programmed to cook the soup as well as blending it into a smooth soup if you like.

The best thing about soup machines is that they are so easy to keep clean. All the ingredients go in at the same time, so there is no fuss. Once the soup is made, it is easy to pour into a storage container, so the machine can be washed up. As there are generally only two parts to a soup maker, it is very quick and easy to clean.
